Despite the concerns of some touring players, the official departure from Cricket Australia marks an important milestone for the Marquee teams returning to play in Pakistan. New Zealand and England canceled tours of Pakistan late last year due to security concerns. However, the ECB has agreed to tour Pakistan in late 2022 for seven T20Is and three Tests on either side of the T20 World Cup.

"We are pleased that the Cricket Australia Board has officially approved their team's five-week tour and confirmed that their best players available will be visiting Pakistan for the first time in 24 years," said PCB Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain. "We are really excited to host Pat Cummins and his players and look forward to a competitive series consisting of three Tests, three ODIs and one T20I.

While Australia lagged behind with a strong performance in the home series against England, our team is playing excellent cricket and as a result our players have won ICC awards. It is a fiercely competitive series that fans will enjoy and remember for a long time.
