Covid-19 India News Updates: There have been 1,49,394 new cases of coronavirus reported in India in the last 24 hours, as well as 1,072 deaths due to infection.

  

On Friday (February 4) the country saw a total of 2,46,674 discharges in the last 24 hours, with the overall recovery rate reaching nearly 95.14 per cent, according to data shared by the Union Ministry of Health and overall total recoveries data reached to 4,00,17,088.4.

The total number of Covid-19 active cases in India has come down to 14,35,569, the ministry said today. The total death toll in the country has now reached 5,00,055. In India, the first death due to the Covid epidemic was recorded in March 2020.

Today the daily positive rate is 9.27 percent. As of February 3, 73,58,04,280 samples had been tested for COVID-19, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Of these, 16,11,666 samples were tested on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 2,668 fresh Covid-19 cases and 13 deaths on Thursday, but the positivity rate dropped to 4.3 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department. On Wednesday, 3,028 new coronavirus infections were reported in the national capital.

According to city health department data, the number of COVID-19 tests conducted a day ago was 61,992. The number of daily cases in Delhi has come down after reaching a record high of 28,867 on January 13. The city recorded a positive rate of 30.6 percent on January 14, the highest in the epidemic wave. It took just 10 days for the number of daily cases to drop to less than 10,000.
