Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed the Gujarat Titans' three-game winning streak by eight wickets in the Indian Premier League, with skipper Kane Williamson leading by 57 and Nicholas Pooran making the final touches with a late boom. Monday. Hardik took Pandya's unbeaten 50 to 162 for 7 after sending the Gujarat Titans to bat, but it was never enough as Williamson, who made his first fifty this season, anchored the Sunrisers' chasing goal in 19.1 overs.

The Sunrisers recorded their second consecutive victory after beating Chennai Super Kings last Saturday, but it was their first defeat to the Titans after a hat-trick of victories.

Williamson, who hit two fours and four sixes in 46 balls, added 64 runs from starter Abhishek Sharma (42-32) to lay the foundation for the victory. Williamson, along with retired Rahul Tripathi, who was injured in the 17th over, reached 40 and was an inch closer to victory.

Pooran (34 not out off 18 balls) made a deal with his vicious swing after Williamson exited 17th. His innings included two fours and two sixes. He finished the match with a six, scoring 168 for 2 in 19.1 overs.

There are moments that change both games. First, on the 13th, Williamson jumped on Hardik Pandya and hit two sixes. Then, in the 16th over thrown by Lucky Ferguson, the Sunrisers captain hit a six and a boundary, reaching the SRH target.

Previously, captain Pandya's 50 keeper did not come off 42 balls to help the Gujarat Titans register a match of 7 to 162 after missing the higher order. Hardik, who was invited to bat, first teamed up with David Miller (12) to make it 40 for the fourth wicket before winning the innings, after which the first three batsmen failed to change their start and Gujarat struggled at 64/3 after eight overs.

Hardik added 50 runs along with Abhinav Mahonar, who hit his 21-ball fast-shooting 35 with his Rs. 2.60 crore, the Titans crossed the 150-run mark. Manohar, who took three lives, hit five boundaries and one six in his short span and most notably dived into T Natarajan (2/34) in 18th position, where Gujarat scored 13 runs.

However, it was an unusual strike from Hardik as he mixed an aggressive warning to the anchor innings. The 'all-rounder' announced his arrival directly from Natarajan to see his first limit and he behaved rudely with Umran Malik (1/39) who hit two consecutive boundaries in eight overs, resulting in nine runs.

In the next over, he hit a maximum of Aiden Markram on the Cow Corner, but Hardik had no partners as SRH hit at regular intervals. SRH's attack kept Hardik away for the most part as he failed to free his hands in the last five overs and as a result it was Hardik's slow half - century in the IPL.

Earlier, starter Matthew Wade won his first innings, courtesy of a dense outside edge in the first over, giving Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/37) 17 runs, 12 of them extra. But Gujarat lost Wade (19), Shubman Gill (7) and batsman Sai Sudarshan (11) for a pittance.

Gill finished third with a one-handed dive catch by Rahul Tripathi on the deck over Bhubaneswar. The rusty Sudarshan became the first victim of Natarajan after hitting Kane Williamson in the middle.

Wade, who hit three boundaries, was pinned in front of the wicket after missing a quick move, in a more complete delivery from Malik in the eighth. Gujarat then added 82 runs in the last 10 overs with the help of Hardik and Manohar.
