Beijing Corona News: China on Friday reported Covid-19 cases that have been confirmed locally for nearly two months, forcing worst affected cities to adopt a national strategy to quickly stop fires, lock down affected communities and reduce business activity.


 

China on Thursday reported 23 cases of domestic infections with confirmed symptoms, down from 43 a day earlier, official data showed.

This marks the fourth day of decline in local symptomatic cases as the daily cas‌e load has been low since November 29.

The central province of Henan and the northern city of Tianjin, two areas where most of China's local cases have been identified in the past 10 days, each reported less than 10 locally confirmed infections as of Thursday.

The capital, Beijing, reported five, rising slightly from three a day earlier. Some new local cases have also been reported in the southern city of Zhuhai and the northwestern city of Xian.

China on Thursday reported two new cases of asymptomatic infections, which are classified separately from those confirmed in Yunnan's southwestern province.

No new deaths, death toll rises to 4,636 As of January 20, there were 105,484 confirmed cases on mainland China, including local and foreign countries.
